Grand Junction will be hosting National Arbor Day Festival April 16, 2011 at Lincoln Park with a chili and salsa competition, music, microbrews, food and "touch a truck".  Free seedling trees will be given to all festival attendees by the forestry service.  Suncrst Orchard Alpacas will be there with Klondike, Bounty, Salem, and Vinney as well as have an array of GO GREEN alpaca products for sale.    Hope to see you there!

May 14 & 15,  2011 Suncrest Orchard Alpacas will be shearing alpacas and harvesting the fiber of over 50 animals from 3 local farms.   We will also be skirting the fiber and preparing it for processing into yarn, which will be done at a later date.  This day will be an open farm day to the public to observe the process, however, because of the number of animals we will be shearing,  we will not be giving tours of the mill.   This is an exciting time on the farm!  Hope to see you there!

Palisade's 3rd annual Bluegrass and Roots festival will be held June 10-12,  2011 at Riverbend Park in Palisade.  It will be a weekend of good food and great music!  Suncrest Orchard will be  there with a variety of alpaca products and provide felting demonstrations throughout the weekend.  Hope to see you there.

 8/18/2011-8/21/2011   Suncrest Fiber Arts and Animal Expo will be presented in conjunction with the Palisade Peach Festival to showcase a variety of fiber animals, fiber arts and numerous educational opportunities through workshops and demonstrations.   If you are interested in participating in this exciting expo, please contact Suncrest Orchard Alpacas for more information.  We are looking for weavers, spinners, felters, knitters, crocheters and fiber enthusiasts.  Vender applications will soon be available.

Suncrest Orchard Alpacas will be hosting a holiday open house November 27, 2010 and extending the farm store hours from 8:00am-6:00pm.  The farm store carries a variety of hats, socks, gloves, scarves, sweaters, jackets, felted items comforters, yarn, batts, and rovings.   Stop in for hot cider and cookies and get a jump on holiday shopping with locally made items that will keep you warm and fuzzy this season.
